Prime Minister of Pakistan
The Prime Minister is head of government, leads different departments and National Command Authority over the nuclear arsenals.
The Prime Minister is elected by members of the National Assembly for a term of 5 years. The Prime Minister:
- overseas the operations of Ministries, Civil Service and government agencies
- appoints members of government
- leader of the National Assembly
- chairs the Council of Common Interests
- acts as chief advisor to the primeminister
Shehbaz Sharif

Shehbaz Sharif became the 23rd prime minister of Pakistan on 04 March 2024. He earlier served as in the post from April 2022 to August 2023. Previosuly he also served as the chief minister of Punjab three times, making him the longest-serving Chief Minister of Punjab.
